GOTTA BE SONIC: Get Your Jazwares On!

Contributed by Nick Lucier

A while back Jazwares released a line of Sonic figures to celebrate the Hedgehog's 20th Anniversary. The figures included Tails, Knuckles, Shadow and Sonic of course. Some of these are included in a really good deal going on now (scroll to the bottom). They are all three inches in size and all come with a classic enemy from the Sonic franchise. These figures were all made to commemorate the anniversary. Although small in size, these figures have incredible detail and include multi jointed movements in the waist, arms and legs - this provides great ways to twist, and even turn them. These are just a few figures that Jazwares has made, they also have a line of great video game figures from Minecraft, Megaman, and even Mortal Kombat.

Sonic was first released back in 1991 for both the Sega Master System and Sega Genesis consoles, but didn't hit it big time until Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The main story to these games were very simple, go through the various levels, jump or spin atop enemies and then at the end of each level locate a capsule, jump on the capsule to free the animals trapped inside. After 2 or 3 levels you begin to fight the games' main villian, Dr. Eggman. To unlock the full ending in the 3 original titles you would have to find these gems called Chaos Emeralds, which unlocked Sonic's total power. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, it was the same concept...however it showed two brand-new characters, your pal Tails, and another one named Metal Sonic. Jazwares also has a toy for this character as well. The Sonic franchise is still around today, and I, for one, am very excited to see the next line of toys Jazwares puts out for the next anniversary.
