BOXY YET STYLISH: They've been mentioned in these pages much earlier - but with the movie opening last night, and after our viewing of it today, the word on the street is Frickin' Phenomenal! This has to be one of the takeaway animated hits of the year. The lead characters are tinkering underground box dwellers forged in vinyl thanks to Funko are (from left to right): Shoe, Eggs & Fish and they are in a word, adorable. These three, along with a small army of lil' boxed gremlin-like characters take from the underground to the streets to see to it that justice be made over the evil Snatcher (oh, and do not miss the end credits!!). Laika has really fashioned something quite unique that will appeal to most audiences, with a mostly British cast including Nick Frost, Toni Collette and Simon Pegg. And the BoxTrolls Theme was done by none other than Eric Idle, yes, you heard it! The Pop! versions are quite something else and pay very strictly to detail, especially in the matte and color paint job. It's a MUST for all collectors to consider picking these up via Entertainment Earth. And get out to see it soon. Here's a trailer:
