collectibleGEEK Rolls Out A Brand-New Mystery Box

by Dan Reynolds

Welcome one and all to the first of many Go Figure box reviews! This particular review will actually include two parts, the unboxing video by our very own TJ Norris and the second half is the written review by some assistant editor guy... Oh wait that's me! So let's get started. October has officially given us collectibleGEEK.com's first cache box, the Founder's Cache. This is the first in their line of cache boxes including next months collectors cache. Go Figure was given an exclusive sneek peak at the cache series and here's our review.

So let's start with some of the smaller items in the box. The first thing in the box is a Mystery Mini figure. Funko's fantastic mini figures cover a wide range of pop culture from Disney to Horror from Firefly to Guardians of the Galaxy. So if you're into geekery then mini mystery figures are definitely up your alley. The second item from the cache was a Vinyl 3 figure. It also comes in different characters, but I can say I got a perfect one. Deathstroke! I have recently been finishing up Arrow (Season 2) so I was thrilled to get this figure. We'll be featuring more on Arrow and The Flash soon so keep checking back in. The third item was a Tin-Tastic pencil and eraser set. Mine was Adventure Time but the video also shows the Batman version. (Not that I'm jealous.... I am though)....

So I would venture to say for most folks the last two items are probably the highlights of the box. Drumroll please... The Founder's Cache also featured a Funko The Walking Dead Pop!. Now this seems to me like a great play on the timing of this first box which falls in the very creepy month of October. Kudos collectibleGEEK.com, Zombies definitely fit the Halloween theme. The Walking Dead figures tend to be very coveted among collectors and have a huge amount of variants to choose from. In case you're looking for Pop!s for your own army of undead walkers you can visit one of our affiliates and take advantage of their awesome selection. Now for the last item, the coveted grail of the box, the one item folks have been most excited about so far....The Guardians of the Galaxy T-shirt. This T-shirt features a totem pole graphic that includes all your favorite heroes from the recent movie. This is an exclusive design made for the box by an artist named Gomi Gomi. I think it's a fun view of the 5 characters as they are very Funko-esque. Yes I made that word up.

So overall I was happy with the items included and may have started some new collections based on what I received. Now I could be secretive and try to keep collectibleGEEK.com a secret from you, but I think I might have mentioned it enough times for you to know where this box came from. They also have a Build-Your-Own-Cache which our readers are going to get a discount on if you enter the following code: GF-NEWS. If you enter that code you'll get $2.50 off w/any additional add-on. Also Collector's Caches are available now for $25 plus shipping so head on over to CollectibleGEEK.com and pick yourself one up today. Also stay tuned for additional articles about some of the shows mentioned above. Until next time this is Daniel for Go Figure!
