Our "Special Feature" this week will be hitting theatres nationwide 11/7 and features one of my favorite characters from any of the recent Disney movies. From Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, comes Big Hero 6, an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called Big Hero 6. In fact, Big Hero 6 is the first Disney animated film to feature Marvel Comics characters. In 2009, Disney purchased Marvel Comics' parent company. Which brings up another reason I really like this movie whether you know it or not it, it stems from a comic book series. With all that going for it movie wise it should be no surprise that the movie has no lack of awesome collectible figures to go with it. I want to highlight a few of them starting with the basic action figures.

Bandai is the company behind the majority of the Big Hero 6 figures including the versions pictured above. The action figures of all the Disney Big Hero 6 characters, each features 8+ points of articulation, plus accessory or a packed out character part. The assortment includes all your favorite characters, including: Baymax, Hiro, Wasabi, Fred, Go Go Tomago, Honey Lemon and Yokai

Articulated with detailed styling, Baymax and Fred come to life in the Disney Big Hero 6 six-inch feature figures, each character boasting its unique display of strength and power. Baymax’s power-punching feature activates with a pull of his fist back… and let it fly. These two figures are fun classic versions of Baymax and Fred and in many ways they remind me of some of my favorite toys growing up.

This Baymax figure is sure to be a favorite among kids and parents alike this holiday season. Armor-Up Baymax allows you to transform Baymax from his 6” white nursebot form to an 8”crime fighting super hero. Twenty body armor pieces construct a powered-up Baymax, growing two inches in height while preparing for battle in his red armored suit. This is a fun piece in my opinion and even though I normally wouldn't, I plan to purchase this figure to open and display. Order him here.

Bandai was not the only major company to get on board with figures for this upcoming movie. Funko produced a stunning more whimsical and collectible version of the big hero six characters as well. Standing between 3.75" and 6" tall, these pops! highlight the majority of the major characters including two super sized Baymax figures. Baymax has not only been super-sized in the Funko line, but also done in both his basic white nurse mode and his full armor suit. There's one last major figure to highlight from the line and I think many of you classic collectors will enjoy the 11" figure, but you're just going to have to wait until Flashback Friday for our feature review. :-)

To get your hands on the collectibles mentioned please visit our affiliates (Entertainment Earth has the largest selection). They offer these and many more options to choose from. That will wrap up our first ever Monday Megaplex review, for more please stay tuned each week as we continue to focus on the movies and collectibles you love. We'd also love to hear your feedback feel free to leave comments here on the website.
