Hello and welcome back to yet another edition of Weirdsday. This week with the silly season well and truly upon us with only just a few more sleeps till the jolly fat man in the red suit comes to see all the nice people in the world, I just couldn’t go past looking at the Nightmare Before Christmas FunKo Pop! range, in particular the ever so cute Santa Jack Skellington FunKo Pop!
Tim Burton’s 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas follows the story of Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king Jack. Jack who has become bored with the yearly task of frightening the people of the “real world” accidently discovers Christmastown. The bright lights and warm spirits gives Jack a new look on life and so plots to take Christmas under his control when he kidnaps Santa Claus and takes on his role. Disaster and dismay are only natural to follow the beloved Jack from there on.
But it’s not all gloom and doom thanks to the awesome people over at FunKo who have put out this epic series of pops. Pssst just a little side note secret, its true what they say once you Pop! You can’t stop. It is certainly no exception to Santa Jack Skellington in all his Christmas and Santa Claus suit glory.
Like most pops Jack is no exception from the 3 ¾ inch tall size and only weighing in at a mere 4 ounces or not even one kilogram he makes for a perfect desk buddy or Christmas time decoration, even a wonderful stocking stuffer for the Pop!-aholic in your life. The recognisable Santa image twisted to the flavour of Jack certainly makes it unique just as Jack would have wanted. His big eyes and wide smile catches you staring into them without your realising until you snap back to reality as if you been under his spell. His indented eyes certainly help with that as they draw you into the depth like any true Skellington would.
So being an in the box collector myself I just cannot bring myself to take my Jack out of his box to look at him from every angle to see if there are any paint flaws or errors, personally he is just perfect to me and likewise for any fan of NBC and Jack Skellington. This variant will be a must have item for the fans not forgetting the entire Nightmare Before Christmas range. Santa Jack is getting hard to find so some searching maybe required depending on your location. Watch out for the super overpriced pops from time to time being sold online but with some time and research you will find a Jack priced right for you and will have him proudly on display in your collection.
So go on spoil yourself a little after all it is Christmas and get your very own Santa Jack Skellington FunKo Pop!
