Hello collector friends, Austin North here. Today I'll be taking a look at everyone's favorite bastard, Negan. This figure was released on Black Friday 2013, as an exclusive from Skybound on their website. I'll be looking at the Bloody B/W Version as opposed to the full-color, because as always I was late to the party getting this guy (sold out!). Unfortunately, the full-color version is only available at ridiculous prices through Amazon or secondhand.
If you're familiar with The Walking Dead comic series, then you are more than likely familiar with Negan. The foul mouthed leader of the Saviors was responsible for the death of one of the most beloved characters of the series (no spoilers). With the character due on the series someday soon, it only seems fitting that he gets immortalized in plastic. Without further ado, let's check this bad boy out.
Likeness: I don't think this figure could look more like Negan. The evil grin sets off the entire figure, with that Patrick Warburton/Bruce Campbell look he has in the comics.
Articulation: The head is on a ball joint and rotates very nicely. And the joints are all very tight and hold poses very well. The legs are standard McFarlane, meaning the hip joint is tight and the legs don't rotate much. The ankle joints are rather weak and can allow him to tip over and fall.
My next gripe is that the arms don't come together enough to accommodate a swinging pose. I also wish he had included another set of hands for this reason. Paint: Can't judge the full-color version but the detail on the b/w version is excellent. Right down to his barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille.
Accessories: He includes 3 accessories: the only bitch he's ever loved, Lucille, his knife and the iron he uses to burn half of Dwight's face off.
Scale: He is perfectly on scale with the other figures in the comic and TV series lines, especially Dwight. I'd say this figure is a 7 out of 10. Aside from the issues with the arms and ankle joints I'm very happy with him. He's relatively low-priced on Skybound.com. If you're a customizer, a repaint should be easy. I hope you enjoyed this review, and I'll catch you on the flipside.
