A new hero has officially emerged from the great deep to save civilizations between the surface and the sea. From Nemo Toys/Nemo Publishing we are introduced to an interesting character, fresh from the colorful pages of his own comic book, The Sea Ghost.

The azure-skinned figure sports a classic slicked back hairstyle in a signature snowy white and fin-like feet. The Sea Ghost comes to life from the mind of writer/illustrator Jay Piscopo, and is a companion/spin-off of his enterprise, The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli.

The action figure comes in a clamshell plastic casing with a colorfully illustrated insert cardback and its very own comic! And the story might make even a few of the old Aquaman issues blush ;) as Sea Ghost (after being inadvertently transported to a new dimension?) takes on both The Phlan and The Simas who are at war. He sets out to become the peacemaker between these ancient foes. It's quite good.

The 8" action figure wears a skintight nylon-like b/w jumpsuit emblazoned with a seahorse, the iconic and monogamous loveable bottomfeeder. The figure's torsois as pure white as his coiffe. The old-school styled (ala Mego) figures in these series have slowly emerged over the past half-dozen years to now fourteen, so if you are new to this series it is high time to play catch-up! This lovely hails from ye olde New England (oh how it beckons me back) and the great state of Maine (the high seas in real time). Here are a few details:

His stoic face is a perfect mona-lisa mug, slight scowl, and bat-like mask set off his white absence for eyes perfectly. A tough, determined looking character, who is also agile and seaworthy. I'm particularly impressed by the stylish headgear, a unique design that warps around and has a rubberscuba look about it overall, complete with ear fins - just perfect!

Articulation is good at the hips, neck, hands and knees. There are no accessories to consider for his hands, but that would make a cool addition later on (or customize your own!). The stitching on the onesie could have been done with black thread making it more seamless - but it's not a real distraction. The only slight criticism about the outfit I would make is that it may have been cooler to see something in scaly vinyl - but given the design at hand the toymakers took great care in presenting a brand-new superhero in the making to the rest of the world.

WATCH HIM WADE THE WATERS....
Get him here. We highly rate The Sea Ghost and suggest you check this comic/figure set out soon! You can find him as distibuted via Diamond Comic Distributors, and Nemo Toys on Facebook.
