NO, THIS IS TRUE!: As many know the previously unsullied, loveable Bill Cosby has been in the naughty news as of late. His name and voice will ever be associated with his long-running sitcom as Dr. Huxtable, guest appearences on every variety show imaginable in the way-back time machine, Jell-O Pudding (the jiggle won't EVER be the same) and, of course, for us at Go Figure, most memorably Cosby brought life to Fat Albert on Saturday mornings. For now, there's a bit of limbo until courts delve deeper into the mind of the man behind the voice, and smile. Until, that is, Rodman Edwards, a teen artist came outta nowevere with a wha-whammy. The piece in development is a hotbed of debate, for umpteen reasons, pro and con and all extremes. It's a protest in part by an a young guy repped by Cory Allen Contemporary Art (or CACA) - nudge. The bronze nude prototype depicts an average middle age/golden years male physique with a likeness to Cosby including a repeating micro-scale and crying Fat Albert placed atop the frontal regions.
It's part of a proposal to unseat another statue that sits at the entry to the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Aside from the sensitivity of the issue - we think it's important to report on news that crosses over the lines and back again. Yah! As Latrice Royale put it.....
