Pick Your Poison: It Came From Outer Space!!

Mondo has announced their Iron Giant Deluxe Figure and The Iron Giant Bolt based on the iconic movie The Iron Giant; which will be available for pre-order on Mondotees.com

Mondo created it using the actual digital files used in the film, the figure features over 30 points of articulation, two interchangeable heads with a light up feature, magnetic “S” that can be detached from its sign and attached to his chest, switch-out “War Arm”, Hogarth mini-figure, and a girder to munch on. In addition to this, the figure also includes a sound feature, with Iron Giant quotes from the film.

The bolt is a life-sized replica of the wayward flashing piece of The Iron Giant, as seen in the film. The collectible is 6 inches in length, with a flashing light feature, and authentic details from the film. It’s the perfect-sized piece to display at home to show that there’s always hope in the end.

It was based on The Iron Man: A Children’s Story in Five Nights a 1968 science fiction novel by British Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, first published by Faber and Faber in the U.K. with illustrations by George Adamson. Some have described it as a modern fairy tale because the book describes the unexpected arrival in England of a giant “metal man” of unknown origin who rains destruction on the countryside by attacking industrial farm equipment before befriending a small boy and defending the world from a monster from outer space.

The Iron Giant was a 1999 American animated science fiction comedy film using both traditional animation and computer animation, produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The movie was directed by Brad Bird, scripted by Tim McCanlies, and starred Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick, Jr., and Vin Diesel. Sadly, the film was a box office bomb, making $31.3 million worldwide against a budget of between $50 million and $70 million. Many attribute this to poor promotion on the part of Warner Brothers but there is a silver lining: it received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics; based on 123 reviews collected by Rotten Tomatoes.

The Iron Giant Deluxe Figure costs $300 and is expected to ship in the 3rd quarter of 2015. The Iron Giant Bolt Replica, which you can pre-order for $65 will ship within the next few months.
