Westeros Weekly: Dragons, Prison Breaks and Boats

KLNN: Kings Landing News Network

Section 1: The Realm Reviewed

SEASON 5 - IT'S HERE! Season 4 ended with some really jaw dropping events. Daenerys reluctantly imprisoned 2 of her dragons with one still loose causing havoc, Tyrion escaped prison and shot his father with a crossbow, Arya finally cashed in her iron coin, Littlefinger has Sansa right where he wants her, and Jon Snow had a surprise visit from Stannis after defending the wall from Mance Rayder and his Wildling Army. Now in the beginning of season 5 what will we find?

Those of you who have read books 4 & 5 know what to generally expect however, it is confirmed that there will be some subtle changes. It's most likely nothing we haven't experienced before watching the series but it also leaves room for questions and surprises. Will we see Arya make it to Bravos? Should we expect some flashbacks to prior events? Will we see Prince Oberin's brother plot his revenge? All these questions and more will be answered very soon, the Season 5 premiere is only hours away!

Fan-Fair

A Song of Pix & Pancakes: Today's story is about Elizabeth Jones Ueding. Elizabeth's friend told her about Game Of Thrones for 2 years before she finally binged watched seasons 1 & 2 right before season 3's premiere. She then went on reading binge that didn't stop until she had read everything available from G.R.R.M. She is now an administrator of a fan group and frequents several other forums sharing information, pics and threads about G.O.T. & G.R.R.M.

Elizabeth got a lucky break when she won a V.I.P. package to the the Nacogdoches Film Festival which included a private party, preferential treatment at the book signing and front row seats at all the panels. She then set off for the adventure of a lifetime.

The experience was more than she could put into words, Elizabeth actually ended up spending more time around him then ever expected. During the V.I.P. Party they spoke about his love for wild wolves and the sanctuary he frequents in New Mexico. At one of the panels she met his first publisher by chance but didn't realize it untill G.R.R.M. sat near them and joined the conversation. She then pulled off a successful series of photobombs to capture the moment. She sat at a table next to his at IHOP and even had to step in and help him enjoy his meal from a flock of mobbing fans. This action won the affection and gratitude of him and the other known authors attending the event.

As many others have felt, G.R.R.M.'s interviews on TV and the net seem somewhat mischievous and elusive however, Elizabeth claims he is a very down-to-earth, nice man plus extremely patient and professional when it comes to his patrons. Interviewing Elizabeth was great, she is a passionate fan that deserved every moment of her unforgettable experience. When asked how this has changed or inspired her for the future she answered.

"Well, now I defend him a bunch! I don't want to hear anyone saying anything about his death or how slow he writes. Also, I spent hours watching him, so I think I understand him better now.... Reading an interview or seeing it on video is NOT the same as seeing him over a few days plus observing everything that revolved around the questions and answers.....

I encourage others to meet him, the experience of seeing him talk about his work was Amazing! Getting to know the person added to my love for his work and my understanding of it. I believe it would do the same to many others". G.R.R.M. is a great author/creator and Elizabeth's experience is enough to make any true Game Of Thrones Fan jealous. Meeting the man behind the engine is truly a privilege all fans should hope for.

Section 3: Collecting Westeros

Threading her needle: Arya Stark is the second daughter of the late Eddard Stark, former Hand of the King, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. After reluctantly leaving her "dancing instructor" to die and being separated from her father during the uncovering of the conspiracy that killed him, she then began traveling north in search of her other family members.

This journey was filled with obstacles and setbacks unforeseen plus once she arrived she learned of her family's terrible deaths by the hands of Walder Frey and Roose Bolton. Thanks to Jaqen, Arya had a "free ride" to Bravos to serve The Red God. The Dark Horse Deluxe Arya Stark Statue is made of polyresin and modeled after her travels from Kings Landing to finally setting sail for Bravos. It was sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios. Dark Horse Deluxe (1250 pieces) is a trademarked subsidiary of Dark Horse Comics Inc. The word deluxe is truly fitting for this toy and the others D.H.D. makes. The 11" statue is available is now available.

These figures have INCREDIBLE likeness to the actor, wardrobe and weapons/accessories unparalleled to just about anything out there mass produced. Statue had to be approved by actress Maisie Williams and HBO. This particular assortment of G.O.T. figures is not as mainstream or well known as the Funko POP! and Legacy Collections figures available at most chain stores.

Other than purchasing them online, I have only seen them at cons, select comic shops and speciality toy stores. These figures are meant for serious fans that are also serious collectors. This is a 100% MUST HAVE collectable.
