Bodega Artist Series by Pez

From the Bodega Artist Series is this wonderful odd bird from Barcelona's grafitti artist Pez! This is coming at ya from the stylish kaNO kid. Is it a bird, is it an action figure, no it's some in-between vinyl collectible mash-up with streetwise attitude.

Yeah. We're into it. First, it's sort of old-fashioned mini milk bottle shape with its frosted transluscence offers the cool green from within to show through as if it were some type of container for poison, secrets, paint....? His signature smiley one-eyed whale emblazoned on the chest of the figure is immediately friendly and sinister simiultaneously.

The figure carries a neon orange x-acto blade, so you know he's a street wild creative, and his head is a spray paint nozzle, which by the way, swivels all around for posing. Speaking of posing, we were really excited to see both arms move up and down as well as the way the birdlike feet pivot front to side with ease. Vinyl figures with articulation are fewer between, so this was a nice added feature to this figure. At about 6" in height you can't go wrong with adding this figure into your collection - especially for the grafitti-o-philes out there - you know who you are!

The paint is pretty much only on the gold claw and around the foot, and this was done fairly cleanly, and the feet, as you can see above are stamped with the artist and series.

The figure is wonderfully minimal and clever in its simplicity. In the way Hal-3000 would seem to stare on, this figure does the same through its nozzle.
