A refreshing new series has just come ashore. And it's filled with lots of little treasures. Here we have the newly released Pathfinder Battles: Dungeons Deep. It's a new collection of 51 collectible miniatures, prepainted plastic figures, from the minds of Wizkids/NECA and Paizo - the brainchild behind the popular fantasy roleplaying game, Pathfinder.
The new figures come in a colorful cube depicting only a few of the vast cast of characters to collect. They come in small, medium and large sizes with one Gargantuan Red Dragon figures (sold separately). Each box comes with four of these cool collectibles - one large and three separately wrapped small or medium figures. We opened a brick (8 standard booster packs) and only got three doubles - so in all we now have well over half these collectibles in our first try. They are great for trading and playing with, of course. Have a look at our video which showcases our brick opening:
These figures, some so small as you can see in the video (smaller than a thumbnail in certain cases - some up to about 4" tall) are painstakingly painted with barely any muss and innovative color schemes - are really lil' gems. The sculpts are even stronger, giving these figures a sense of either the regal or eerie scary. My favorite is the Veiled Monster which is listed as a "rare" figure:
I love its 's' shape and translucent blue globes, its multiple red eyes and demonic snarl (see video for more). There are many others which I wished for which will hopefully show up in my next booster like: Bone Golem or Gnoll Leader. With such fun blind box chasing you just have to try and try again. Of course, as mentioned, you might get doubles, though even having two isn't so bad, especially when it's two of something that is intersting or might make for a good tag-team in battle!
