Hunters & Collectors: SDCC Favorites

San Diego Comic-Con 2015 is officially over, another year and another round of movies, comics, and of course....exclusives. 2015 was quite the year for exclusives, with some items selling out by Saturday and others not even selling out. But, let's take a look at some of my favorite exclusives from Comic-Con 2015!

First up, Jim Lee's Blueline Batman by DC Comics. This is the regular edition without the limited edition sketch by Mr. Lee. That set, well, was quite ridiculous how to obtain. You either had to buy the regular version, get a raffle ticket, and then if your ticket was drawn you had the option to buy the limited edition. OR, head over to eBay and pay ridiculous scalper prices of $1,200 to $5,000.

Anyways, this figure and set is nonetheless, a phenomenal piece of Batman art. The designs on the figure are beautifully done, and the sketch on the outer packaging is none other than Jim Lee's masterpiece. The figure has decent articulation and the cape is molded to lay flat on the floor at the bottom. The package is also very easy to open and remove to ensure you can replace the figure and art. If you missed Comic Con you can still find this amazing figure at Toot's Toys and on Amazon. Check out the photos below or my video review here:

Next up is a figure that was more of an early release than an exclusive; the Stan Lee 1/6 Scale Action Figure by Das Toys. This is a must have for any big fan of Marvel, Spider-Man, Iron Man, or just, Stan Lee! The package says it is an artist rendition and though it is not a concurrent Stan Lee design, it does resemble a younger version of Stan, complete with web-shooting hands, 30 points of articulation, and signed by the Generalissimo himself, this is one of my utmost favorites in my collection. You can find this enduring character on Amazon. Here is the review:

Now from one of my favorite companies, Gentle Giant Ltd. This year, Gentle Giant blew away the crowd with their continuation of the DROIDS jumbo Kenner figures, their Jumbo Secret Wars Deadpool, and my pickup, the Star Wars Boba Fett Prototype mini bust! This beautiful mini bust is definitely a stand out piece in any collection; the bright glossy white armor with the matte white undergarment and touches of detail in the backpack, gauntlets, and weapons make this one of the favorites for Star Wars fans and collectors. Last but not least, quite certainly the most sought after and popular exclusive again from Hasbro's Star Wars line, the Black Series 6" First Order Stormtrooper from the upcoming film, The Force Awakens. the Black Series has dominated the last three years of SDCC exclusives, and 2015's exclusive has to be the most popular given the low price point ($24.99) and the first official figure from the new film. The figure flaunts the basic design and colors as the previous Stormtrooper and Clonetrooper armors, with an updated blaster design of black and white decals. The articulation is almost the same as previous figures, and other than the minor paint splatter, this is a figure worthy of a Star Wars fan. The prices are very variant on Amazon right now, watch for best price. Check out my review here:

GOODBYE (for now): So, to end, this will be my last post before going into a hiatus for a few months! For those who are not aware, I am graduating from college in the Spring with a Bachelors in Political Science, and hopefully going to Law School in 2016. I will be taking the LSAT this fall and will be studying for that, until then, having very little time for conventions, blogging, or other things in my free time! I bid you adieu for the moment, and shall return soon enough! May the odds and Force be ever in your favor for the next months of collecting! You can still find and reach me through twitter/instagram @Jahilianaire as well as my Facebook page.
