Canadian Chris here on a rainy cool night.
I lost power and when it came back on The Muppet Show happened to be on. I figured I'd write about them this week since they're near and dear to my heart.
I grew up watching Kermit, Fozzy Bear, Scooter, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, and The Swedish Chef. Each character was very unique and always kept my interest. Funko has released a small amount of characters in Pop! and Wacky Wobbler formats. The characters that are out there leave me wanting Funko to release many more. From the Kermit to Piggy each one literally pops out with vibrant color and beautiful craftsmanship. The standouts in this collection have to be Metallic Animal - a 2013 SDCC San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive. The other must have set in this collection is the SDCC 2012 Mahna Mahna & the Snowths Funko 3-pack. You really have to see it in person to understand what I'm talking about.
Now Pop! figures aren't the only Muppets that have been released by Funko. There are a handful of Wacky Wobbler Muppets, Such as Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Dr.Teeth. I believe that Funko can expand their Muppets line quite a bit. Funko can make Pop! or Wobblers out of Statler and Waldorf the two disagreeable old men who heckled the rest of the cast from their balcony seats. They could come in a two pack, since they were inseparable. The Muppet Baby tv show would be a very cute line of characters that can be popped. Heck, they could make a line based on the New Muppet movies that have been released in the last couple of years. Many obscure and variant characters could also go in production such as Pigs in Space, Muppet Star Wars, The Great Gonzo, and Pepe the King Prawn.
This line wouldn't have to stay just within the The Muppet Show universe, imagine a full line of Fraggle Rock characters to put in a display case, the possibilities are endless.
Well the lights are flickering again I better get a move on it. Until next time Canadian Chris signing off.... EH!
