Ant-Man SDCC Minimates Set

Minimates are becoming more conceptual, more complex and much more interactive fun. These are Marvel's Ant-Man Minimates from Diamond Select Toys, the San Diego Comic Con Exclusive 4-Pack! I got these from Toot's Toys, who brought home many special things that are up on their site now. They come highly recommended, and offer amazing sales, check it. This set is white hot!

The set comes with Shrinking Ant-Man and his nemesis Shrinking Yellowjacket as well as the flying wonder Ant-Thony and Scott Lamb (aka Ant-Man). And there are a whole host of cool accessories, including cool stands for the two main characters (see pics), additional flesh-colored arms, stones, a mini back-pack, shrunken (non-articulated but adorable) Ant-Man and Yellowjacket, exchangeable torsosand more.

The most adventurous set of Minimates in their history thusfar, there are hundreds of possible poses, pairings and covert operations to lie ahead for the collector of mini figures. I love that DST chose to include an invisible "shrinking torso" with a drawing of the figure in miniaturizing-mode as well as a solid one. Ant-thony is super articulated and one of the larger figures to date, really well made and love the wings. Let's have a look at what they can do out of the box.....

This set was available at this year's Comic-Con and will slowly make its way into the secondary market, and is worth every cent of the $19.99 asking price here! There were only 2-3K made of these and this four-pack will be a perfect add-on to your growing (or starting) collection of Avengers, Secret Wars or other superhero groupings. The two main figures here have faces under the armor as well, to the mask just slips over the top, and the part exchange is quite easy and quick to do.

As I put these lil' guys away I have to say that the film from which these were derives was one of my favorite Marvel flicks this year, and I am looking forward to see how Ant-Man is folded into other films in the near future, and don't forget to stay for the very end credits! Collect 'em all.
