Shadow Trooper Hikari

Believe it or not, though there are so many circulating, and several on my personal collector shelf, this is our first time reviewing on of Funko's Premium Hikari Sofubi Japanese Vinyl figures. They are all in limited editions and are fairly lightweight vinyl pieces packaged in nice window boxes. Today we will be taking a look at the Shadow Trooper from Star Wars fame. This is limited to only 1000 so it is sure to sell out given the volume of fans that will be searching for the coolest toys and figures to collect. We got ours from the venerable Toot's Toys where he is currently available for $74.99! I actually became a collector of these particular figures when I stumbled upon a fantastic sale, which they have several hikari currently as low as $19.99. Check them out.

It's a solid mold/sculpt with a pure black finish which shines beautifully. Normally these come off as somewhat cute, but this guy has a menacing toy quality, stealth and fearless and simple. Theese figures are hollow, and in this case there is no detailed paint, it's solid black and just a bit over 6" in height. There are several others in the Star Wars series - among them Bossk, Boba Fett, Darth Vader - and several variants as well - some with sparkles, others are clear or rainbow almost tie-dyed looking, some are metallic, and a few that measure a bit larger.

Each comes with a plastic card that is numbered, tucked under the inner silver panel, I got 550 of 1000 as you can see. Normally you will see some variances in paint from figure to figure as these are hand done - but here you will likely see consistency throughout the run due to the solid coloration. There is no articulation, and the figure has a nice flat stance, here's his feet:

This guy is going to look amazing next to Greedo and Wampa, guaranteed. And he's really just a shadow of himself ;) These are nice collector items because they are limited and well made. And they look even greater en masse when you line them on a shelf, and there are so many to choose from now since they've been circulating for a bit over a year.
