The Orb of Thesulah was a sphere that can hold a person's soul and was used in season 2 of Buffy by both Willow and Giles' girlfriend Ms Jenny Calendar. Both of these women are heroines and specialise in magic. Ms Calendar was working on retreiving Angel's soul when the gypsy curse (placed upon his vampire self to contain his human soul) was broken when he felt a moment of true happiness with Buffy. Angel, soulless once again, became Angelus whose bloodlust and love of sadistic violence was famous amongst vampires, monsters, slayers and watchers.
Ms Calendar was working on a way to retrieve Angel's soul again when Angelus brutally murdered her. With her gone, it fell to Willow to find a way to bring back his soul. She was unable to find the right solution until Buffy found Ms Calendar's floppy disc which contained the Ritual of Restoration which required an Orb of Thesulah.
This 1:1 scale prop replica of the Orb of Thesulah is a beautiful recreation in polyresin containing a mystical "otherworldly" cloudiness/smoke from Factory X. This replica comes in a beautifully carved wooden box with a purple velvet lining. It looks exactly like the prop on the show and, for me, is one of the most beautiful Buffy prop replicas around. This replica, in its wooden box, measures approx. 12.2" x 9.6" x 8.5". The orb itself measures 3.25" in diameter.
In my opinion, this is an excellent replica and definitely one for any Buffy collector. If you have the chance to get one, grab it!
