Sunday Bloody Funday: American Horror Story Pop'd

So anyone who's watched American Horror Story knows it has many different characters that grow on you. The series has won rave reviews from the critics and viewing public. Many major Hollywood talent have been taking note, and wanting to jump into the story. Each season follows a different story and no two seasons are the same. This year Lady Gaga has decided to join the cast. So who might me we see "get popped" this year from Funko? My guess is that a couple of Gaga variants are on deck. Before we get too far into guessing, Lets take a look back at what Funko has already put out.

The first Funko Pop! American Horror Story figures came on the scene in 2014. The lineup included eight figures. It starts with two from the first season Rubberman and Tate Langdon. Rubberman wears a suit of black shiny latex, which conceals what lies beneath. Tate Landon as a Pop! figure is basically a sweeter version of the character and his alter ego Rubberman. Fitted with his leather jacket and combat boots, he's ready to sit in your display case and stare at you.

Now let's move onto the next eight figures in the line which come to us from the third season subtitled 'Coven'.

Papa Legba is also known as The Gatekeeper to the Spirit World, he stands stoically with white painted face and bright red menacing eyes. Every detail down to his rings, snake cane, dreads, necklaces are there. He is slightly top heavy but the cane helps keep him upright perfectly. This is one of the best figures released in this line to date. Everyone needs a little Papa in their lives, Why not you! Misty Day just like the character from the show, Misty is a young witch with blonde hair and ethereal looks. Her Pop! looks like early Stevie Nicks right down to the detailed necklaces. I guess this figure also comes with a stand, if you'd even unbox this beauty.

Fiona Goode dressed head to toe in her favorite colors black and grey. Fiona holds her hand out with a cigarette in tow. She stands regal holding her umbrella in one hand. Her judging eyes stare at your from behind her black dark sunglasses. This is a nice Pop!, but is very head heavy, so don't forget her stand. There's also a bloodied up variant of this one available from Hot Topic. I wonder which one I'd buy?? Myrtle Snow with red hair, black jacket, and white dress with red roses is the next figure. This Pop! captures Myrtle's likeness perfectly (for a Pop! that is). This figure doesn't seem to have the head heavy issues a few others have had in this line.

Cordelia Foxx dressed in a white top and a black dress she can fit in for any occasion, if you overlook her grasping a pair of garden sheers. Like many of the woman in this Funko Pop! line, it comes with a base due to being head heavy. Hot Topic does it again with a blind and scratched up Cordelia exclusive, Even her sheers and the box she is packaged in, are dripping blood. My preference would be for the blind figure as it just looks very cool.

Marie Laveau dressed in her ritual outfit. With red head piece and a snake draped from shoulder to shoulder. This magical Creole chick is dying for you to take her home. Seriously some great paint and detail on this figure. Her eyes are memorizing, so don't stare too long.

Now we move onto season four subtitled 'Freak Show'. This line lives up to it's name. Let's see what the Freak Show beholds. Elsa Mars and Ma Petite are collectors of monsters for their freak show. Elsa is dressed in a light blue pant suit with matching blue eye shadow. Ma Petite stands barely making it to Elsa's midsection in a pink dress. Both have great attention to detail, also both are free standing with no issues. Pepper stands tall with a yellow dress, her hair back in a ponytail. She is the freak you're looking for. Funko used a very unique mold for this character. This figure is a dead on perfect match for her tv show doppelganger. Pepper's accused of some pretty violent crimes, you should probably keep her happy and bring her home and take care of her. Tattler Twins (Beth and Dot) are conjoined twins that share everything but personalities. I have to say this one won't be in my collection anytime soon, as I have a fear of conjoined twins. Both twins are wearing one green dress and two different headbands. I don't have much else to say about this one. It scares me just like the characters in the show did. Two heads are better than one.

This set is very lacking in any variants or exclusives until we come to Twisty.

Twisty is the freak show clown. He has many horrific deformities both inside and out. Funko did this character justice. Twisty sports a demented smile, dead white eyes, His hair (what little he has) is colored green, red, and yellow. He sports fingerless gloves and his white face paint is as dusty looking as his clown costume. I can't overlook the odd bowling pin he holds in his hand at his side. Could this be for no good, I think we both know that answer.

This brings to the variants that Funko wisely chose to do with this character.

We get a exceptionally unique unmasked Twisty 2015 SDCC/Summer Convention Exclusive. Twisty's face looks to have been sliced off exposing his mangled real mouth and tongue. There's also a Freddy Funko Twisty Pop! figure which is covered head to toe in blood spatters but his hair is nice and combed.

As 'Hotel' has just premiered, this now brings us to a look ahead. What characters can Funko turn into Pop! figures this season, well I have a few in mind already. Lady Gaga as The Countess, Funko has yet to do a Lady Gaga Pop! so why not start here. Wes Bentley as John Lowe. From watching the first episode, I feel John's going to be a major part of the story.

Denis O'Hare as Liz Taylor. This one would keep in line with some of the other American Horror Story Pop! figures. It would be a different figure for sure. Finally Kathy Bates as Iris. I would like this if we aren't going to ever get a figure from her Misery movie. Kathy Bates just deserves to have a figure made in her likeness, What better time to do it?

Well guys I'm checking out for this week. More horrific stuff coming. Check us out on Facebook where the conversation continues. Stay tuned eh!!!
