The season of terror is fast approaching and apparently there’s something more terrifying than accidentally stepping on a Lego brick. And it’s not just one, but sixteen! Lego has recently released its newest instalment to the popular Collectable Minifigures Series theme (CMS). It’s the Series 14 inspired by Halloween entities. You got it folks, Lego has finally accepted the sorry fact that you can’t scare your kids with monstrous props anymore so that they would eat their meals. Today’s little rascals have apparently found monsters endearing, cool, and entertaining. And I’ve heard the film ‘Monsters, Inc.’ didn’t help much in reversing that trend.
This gang of unsightly minifigs is just as diverse and hilarious as The Addams Family. They have colourful personalities that make them stand out from each other. One is the Banshee who doesn’t have a friend because she’s cursed to always see bad omens of fellow minifigs; the Fly Monster who has an identity crisis; the Gargoyle who is cursed to be stone for eternity; the boisterous Monster Rocker who rocks the dead back into life; the insatiable Monster Scientist who creates villains based on an algebraic formula; the Plant Monster, a.k.a. the scourge of vegetarians; the jackass-in-disguise Skeleton Guy; the naughty Spectre who’d rather play than rest in peace; the Square Foot who likes leaving square footprints behind; the Spider Lady who tested negative for arachnophobia; the Tiger Woman who’s a huge fan of Fifty Shades of Grey; the Wacky Witch who gets airsick easily; the Wolf Guy who loves to play fetch with a bone; the Zombie Businessman who returned from the dead, because there’s no stock market in the afterlife; the Zombie Cheerleader whose cheering style is so lifeless; and the Zombie Pirate whose holy grail is the blue whale’s brain.
With CMS Series 14 in the loose, your Monster Fighters will have to postpone their day off from work. Similarly, your Ghostbusters will finally have a chance to prevent retirement from the shelves because they’re not jobless anymore! Photo credit: Eurobricks
