As the UK premiere of season 4 of Arrow kicks off, we are taking a closer look at Black Canary and the beautiful new Kotobukiya 1:7 scale statue due to be released in January 2016. This statue shows Black Canary in her classic costume of black leather, heeled boots, gloves and fishnet stockings with an overall cartoon-y effect. Standing almost 9.5" high, this sexy statue is based on the work of Shunya Yamashita. There will also be a Heo Exclusive version of this figure in a blue jacket and blue stockings which will be available in February 2016.
The Black Canary has most recently served alongside the Green Arrow on our TV screens. She has also previously served with The Justice League of America. The original Black Canary was a hand-to-hand fighter with no superpowers but eventually developed the "Canary Cry" which creates sonic vibrations. For a while, during the Green Arrow series, she lost the ability to create the cry but later regained them after being immersed in the Lazarus Pit.
During the Arrow TV series, Sara Lance was first Black Canary but after she was murdered, Laurel (an ex-attorney and assistant D.A.) became the Black Canary and was trained in the art of hand-to-hand combat until she is accepted by Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) as an adversary vigilante. In a Flash cross-over, Cisco gives her an ultrasonic collar, whose effect is called the "Canary Cry". This statue will be released in January 2016 with the exclusive statue being released in February 2016.
