I've noticed recently a few new Wonder Woman statues available for pre-order. I will be discussing two of the Art of War statues and their differences.
The first statue I wanted to talk about is by Bruce Timm and has quite a cartoon look (always good when it comes to comic-based statues) which you can see in the photo above. She stands 7.5" tall and is made of polystone, manufactured by DC Collectibles. She has a classic busty Wonder Woman pose with her fists on her hips, standing proud and ready. This statue shows the female heroic in all her glory (lasso included) even if some have called her outfit "skimpy". To these people, I say Wonder Woman could easily kick your ass regardless of what she is wearing. She is expected to arrive in April 2016.
The other is by Amanda Conner which stands 8.25" tall and is limited to 5200 pieces. She is expected to arrive in June 2016. As can be seen from the photo, she is quite different compared with the other in terms of dress; her costume looks like a Wonder Woman style gladiator outfit with a spear, shield and thigh-boots. One direct link to the other statue is the eyes which look exactly alike, linking a fierce and lion-fighting-looking statue to the petite and delicate-looking Wonder Woman. This statue shows her more as the God-like figure she has become to a lot of women (and not a few men) as a role model and someone to be inspired by.
Is it just the outfit that makes the change in statues or has Amanda Conner purposely shown Wonder Woman as the fierce and God-like woman she is? Tell us what you think here.
