This week I scoured the internet and found a few very cool and unique artists and figures from around the World. I hope you enjoy taking a look at them and maybe discovering something very different than your normal taste in toys. So let's not waste anymore time and get right to it shall we?
1/ Meditations on a Bootleg Vader by The Super Sucklord. I love the the way this resin figure is something completely different from the norm. Measuring 7.5" x 6" and mounted on a wooden board in a pool of colored casting resin, artist Super sucklord has given us something truly unique top hang on our walls. With many variants in colors (Red,Pink,Black,Yellow,Orange,etc) , there's a bootleg Vader for everyone. Check more out from Sucklord himself here.
2/ Hoodie Cat released by Toyholic Design/X glanz (out of Japan). Standing 3.75 " (roughly) This is one cool cat. The eyes on this figure are made of Swarovski Crystal and boy they sparkle!. I enjoy the coolness this figure gives off, I can see him chilling at the corner waiting for a bus(Cat's ride buses right? If you'd like one or know someone that would check out more here.
3/ Holly Jolly Willo by Kyle Kirwan (Martian Toys Exclusive). Merry Christmas to us, thanks to Martian Toys and Kyle Kirwan. Holly Jolly Willo stands 11' tall and is made from rotocast resin. I totally enjoy Christ and all the decorations that come with it, Imagine displaying this each holiday season instead of old Rudolph. 4/ Shark Brothers by Black 13 Park (Taiwan/Hong Kong). Black 13 Park founder, John Bi, designed these figures with highly detailed paint job and highly articulated. He even gave them a story of their own that you can read on the website. Makino Musashi is injected with Miyamoto Musashi’s DNA (a famous Japanese Samurai swordsman from the past). His abilities are activated in combat. Makino wears a Japanese samurai helmet and mask and dual wields samurai swords. Abukawa Mukage is injected with Ed Gein’s DNA(a famous American serial killer). Abukawa wears a wisdom mask during battle and uses a chainsaw as his weapon of choice.
How awesome is it to have a cool backstory for these 1:6 artistic figures?, I personally love the idea of a samurai/serial killer brother team. Will they use their powers for good or for bad? These brothers even have their own theme song. Check out more here.
5/ Michael Lau's Crazysmiles Gardener SM3 6" Vinyl Figure Box Set (Toy Soul 2015)
Wow check out how cool this set of three figures are!. included in the set are gardener 001 MAXX Sleepwalker, gardener 011 T3AO and gardener 096 Darth Figure.
Each character is ultra unique and designed with care. You can never have enough Star wars toys, Why not get something that Hasbro isn't putting out, You'll be glad you did. Michael Lau has some brilliant work, take a look at some of it here.
