Sunday Bloody Funday Meets Retroband

A few months ago I previewed Meats, a 12" Leatherface/Jason crossbreed in a New Releases article. Well now is the time for him to released upon the rest of the world. In a limited run of only 15 Meats sold out within hours at $250/ea.

Meats is a 12" V-Color painted soft vinyl monster. He is covered head to toe in stitches. His flesh is that of a long dead creature from years ago. Covered in disfigured boils and wounds he still manages to strike fear in everyone he encounters. Bandaged and bloodied his missing left hand and his right wields a large bloody meat cleaver, Meats is not someone who want to meet in your dreams. To me the eerie thing about this figure isn't the fact that he has tattered, ripped pants, it's the fact that he has solid black hollow holes where his eyeballs should rest.

Meats' skull highly resembles that of another horror icon, Jason Voorhees, from the Friday the 13th movie franchise. He has a snot pushed in his nose and a exposed gum and missing teeth type grin. I don't even think a mother could like this face. Meats accessories include a real cloth bloody apron (which gives nice homage to a fellow horror icon from the past, Leatherface), also included is that already talked about bloody meat cleaver. This weapon of death fits in Meats only remaining hand perfectly. Never underestimate this guy, I think he's committed to doing no good night and day.

Retroband is no stranger to doing cool, they've released some very killer figures such as Witch, Pumpkin and other various figures from the Halloween 3 Season of the Witch movie, all the way to The Beastmaster Deathguard. Retroband is in the business of bringing excellence and ambition to all it's figures as also highlighted in The Scotty Appleton from New Jack city. I love the feact they took on trying to do justice to an Ice-T (Rapper) figure. The big difference between these mentioned figures and Meats is the fact that meats is not based on a existing figure. This 12" guy is all new and all original.

Later EH (oh yeah, and join us on Facebook today)!
