What You Need:
Plastic dinosaurs (Or even a small Action figure with no sharp ends)
Clear glycerin soap
Soap coloring
Easter eggs
Small cups
Coffee stir stick
Small microwave-safe bowl
Microwave
Masking tape
WARNING: Please be careful if children are using soap to try and get Dinosaur figures with no sharp ends. We wouldn't want anyone to cut themselves.
Directions: Place four or five cubes of clear glycerine craft soap into a microwave safe bowl. Melt it down for about 40 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds. Once it’s become a liquid, add two or three drops of soap coloring. Keep in mind the darker the color, the less you will need. Too much color will cause the soap to become opaque. Place the smaller side of a plastic Easter egg on a glass with the open side up. Put the dinosaur in the center of the egg, and suspend it in the center with a strip of tape (try to not let the dinosaur touch the bottom or sides if possible). Pour in the melted soap and let it set of an hour. Plastic Easter eggs often have a small hole in the top. Make sure you tape over this well to avoid leaks. Once this is done, pour in the melted soap the same way. While it is still liquid, snap the hardened side on top of the liquid side. Let this harden for two hours. To remove the plastic egg, remove the tape from the hole, and gently push on all sides of the egg. you should see air begin to creep into the egg as it separates from the soap. Pull both sides off. If your soap appears to have a seam in the center, simply put the soap back into the egg, tape the sides and the hole to ensure no leaks will occur, and microwave for 20-40 seconds. Gently shake the egg every 10 seconds. This will re-melt the soap, and rid it of any imperfections. The egg will also naturally become smooth with each exposure to water.
