Super7 has decided to break ground at Castle Grayskull and Release Retro Masters of the Universe 3.75" tall figures. Relive the glory days of your youth with these full colored retro re-imagined figures, with 5 points of articulation. Everyone from Skeletor(with staff accessory), He-man(with sword accessory), Mer-Man (sword accessory), and Beast Man (with whip accessory) are all here with blister card art by legendary painter Jason Edmiston. I contacted the good people at Super7 about why they chose to delve into The Masters of the Universe line. I also asked why they chose the Characters they picked for wave 1. "We grew up playing with both Kenner Star Wars and Masters of the Universe toys, so it seemed like a natural combination to create a 'what it' series of figures, imagining what Masters of the Universe would have been if it were made just a few years earlier, when the 3.75" action figure style was the dominant style on toy store shelves. In choosing which characters to lead with, He-Man and Skeletor were no-brainers. Beastman and Mer-Man were chosen because they were two of the earliest (and our favorite) of Skeletor's henchman. Having three villains and one hero also highlighted the idea that Skeletor and his minions will team-up and fight dirty, while He-Man is the heroic Most Powerful Man in the Universe, and can stand up to them on his own."
