So this weekend I decided to delve into the Blizzard Cute and Deadly blindbox I had been eyeing at Hot Topic for awhile. The only Blizzard video game I've ever played was Diablo, so I didn't know what to expect character wise. There is a nice selection of characters from Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. Blizzard transforms these deadly creatures into friendly caricatures.
Once you get the box open you find out your figure is not just in a black plastic bag, but a Metal looking foil bag with all the characters outlined on it. The figure I received was Zeratul from the game Starcraft. Zeratul, is a assassin hero from the Starcraft franchise. He faithfully serves the Xel'Naga. He expertly wields the powers of the Void.
First thing out of the box I did notice how well these 2- 3 inch figures are sculpted and painted. The shell styled forehead shows off that this guy is made for fighting. His dread-locked hair hangs from behind his head all tied up together by a yellow metal looking tie. Most of Zeratul's face is covered by a ragged scarf, while you're drawn towards his bright green alien eyes. This creature wears shin armor as a purple capes flows behind him from shoulder to toes, he also wields the power of the void weapon in his right hand.
If there is one negative to these figures (this one in particular) it is that his hands are connectable to his body, but don't stay on too well. The slightest movement may knock off his hands, especially the one with the weapon. There's and easy remedy in gluing it, which I have yet to do. For a price tag of $10 (CDN) this guy is worth every penny. He looks close enough to a Predator so that's his new home.
Later, Eh!
