The Punisher Gets Its Own SpinOff

Marvel Television and Netflix unleashed one of the absolute best superhero series with Daredevil last year, and its second season has been intriguing, to say the least. The series follows an unlikely heroic vigilante (laywer Matt Murdoch by day) through the crime-ridden, blood soaked streets of Hell's Kitchen. It's perfectly dark, and honestly a bit of a comic for adults when you get right down to it. Along with it followed Jessica Jones which is also quite good as its lead continues to fend off the menace Kilgrave. You may also have heard that Netflix confirmed three additional series spinoffs including: Iron Fist, The Defenders (an ensemble miniseries) and Luke Cage (starring actor Mike Colter, which I am very excited about). Though most exciting, Netflix just broke the news that the current culprit, Frank Castle, otherwise known as The Punisher, will also get his very own stand-alone series.

We couldn't be more excited here at gofigurenews.com as the news rolled in. We learned that Castle, also a vigilante introduced in Daredevil (Season 2) will reprise the role portrayed by super square-jawed actor Jon Bernthal. His tactics to avenge his family are a bit terminal, but the series has done a great job thusfar in allowing the audience to see a kernel of truth about his plight and soul. Steve Lightfoot, who has been involved with the show Hannibal will be the showrunner for the series.

In terms of fusions, we should see some cross-over from series to series in terms of characters. Let us know what you think of this series and spinoffs on Facebook. The first teaser for the new series appeared on Twitter of all places, check it out!
