Wonder Woman: Still Kicking It In Style At 75

SINCE 1941: One of the most beloved figures in the DC Universe is one of our favorite superheroes of all time, Wonder Woman. Later this year we officially celebrate her 75th Anniversary and we can only hope this will be over-the-top! After a similar year-long anniversary for Batman in 2014-15, his partner in crime, Robin only got the low key treatment. But with Gal Godot perched to star in the very first full length epic blockbuster (fingers crossed) directed by Patty Jenkins, alongside Chris Pine and Robin Wright (opening on June 2, 2017) we can feel the energy of the goddesses.

How does one celebrate the world's most famous heroine and feminist icon? So far what we know is that DC Comics will be launching a new comic book series next week, written by Greg Rucka. There will likely be your typical merch rollouts and other shameless tie-ins....but more importantly we will witness the rebirth of the official "WW" logo, have already seen cute manifestations from both Mighty Jaxx (see our review) and Funko (thanks to her initial appearance in Dawn of Justice earlier this year). Yes there will be books, box sets and even clothing (Valentino, Converse) and accessories as would be expected.

The amazon princess will have a special anniversary edition Barbie, new costumery (a lil' silver, a lil' gold), a focus event at this year's SDCC where people can gawk at the new duds worn in the film as well as a special panel discussion that will include the unveil of a unique invisible plane from Mattycollector.com (below).

GET YOUR CALENDAR READY: It's not about the products, it's about the legend of the myth. Being an original card carrying member of the Lynda Carter fanclub as a kid of ten years old you can imagine the palpable excitement in the office. In the words of one Alicia Keys, "This Girl Is On Fire"!
