LIVE LONG & PROSPER: From The Cage (original pilot) to Beyond we salute the fifty years that have gone from the small to the silver screen and created a Gene Roddenberry crafted phenomenon of growing Trekkies. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek and we couldn't be more delighted to see the celebration of the very first original mid 60's version of Mr. Spock played by the beloved Leonard Nimoy (RIP). Thanks to the creatives at Mezco Toyz we now have an expertly crafted (and presented) version of the earliest moments in franchise history. The toymaker previously released another version of Spock to the masses in a different outfit, slightly different sculpt (with an additional expressive exchangeable head and other accessories). This time out we see The Cage come to life in 1:12th scale (about 6 inches in height) and it's all in the details here. The sculpt and paint are truly life-like references to the actor, and the fabric clothing is well tailored and layered. For this scale and for what goes into getting the expression and true-to-episode details right - we rate this figure proudly at an 8/10.
The figure comes with all you see above (however the outer jacket is a nicer, near sky blue rather than the darker color depicted in the glam shot). These will be made available at 50th Anniversary Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas, exclusively at the Vegas Dead Dolls booth. The convention will take place from August 3-7, 2016 at the Rio Suites and Hotel. You can order him here and watch our full video review just below.
