ONE SIXTH SCALE TAKES ON HISTORY: The Ancient Greeks had style, grace and wore heavy metal mandresses - oh yeah! At first glance we are in amazement at the latest (2.0) version of the Greek Hoplite Power Sets by ACI Toys. The glisten and gleam including sheaths, tunics, linothorax, sandals, bronze greaves, xiphos and helmets with hair! Figure not included.
Part of the premise here is really interesting, they sell the accessory sets and you can BYOF (bring your own figure). That's right, these should, in essence, fit most 1:6th scale dudes you have on yer shelf - of course but the company does produce high-quality figures as well (but this is a cool approach). One thing I also really appreciate as they also have Membership Programs that can offer discounts on purchases. Their costumes look painstakingly pieced together and I hope to have one to review for you in the near future. ACI Toys prices are also quite good, and the figures often are released in small quantities of say, 50 (for their Gladiator Set). They also use materials like die-cast metal and fabric (including leather). So it's obvious that every detail is important to them. They have a handful of international retailers.
