H.R.G. Dark Star World's Masterpiece 1979 is the latest sixth scale figure from the folks at Blackbox Toys. It immortalizes the influential Swiss artist H.R. Giger (1940-2014) known for his post-apocalyptic visions, while actually working on the special effects props for the film Alien (for which he and his team won an Oscar).
Rarely are their action figures of people behind-the-scenes, so this is a nice surprise. Of course the artist worked with rock n' roll and movie stars, even though his work had a quintessentially cold and signature nightmarish quality. Alien is likely one of his most memorable achievements, yet he also worked on the films Dune, Batman Forever and Prometheus.
It's being offered at a very decent cost for two set variations (A: contains model of Alien Egg for $126; and B: contains Alien Head, plus Alien Egg for $139). Bringing back to life the seminal year of 1979, this figure comes with an arsenal of cool accessories. These two innovative sets are on pre-order from Urban Samurai Hobbies (USA/Canada) for release at the end of the year. Now, let's get to the show part of show n' tell:
