PROTOCOL DROID A GO: While we are hiding from the large franchises these days as often and early as possible, we couldn't help notice this variation on a theme. It's not very often that you see an alternative to the standard Star Wars originals, but a droid, very similar to a shinier, more golden one, has arrived in a ruby red. Here we have a 6.5" tall R-3PO and he's a lovely example of craftsmanship (from the glams, not from an in-person inspection as of this moment). If you watched Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (our personal fave) ever so carefully you may have even seen this guy make a small cameo.
The pop of golden yellow on the eyes looks as though he might use them to light the way. As a statue he's got magnetized feet upon a metal base so he will stay upright. This guy is brought to you by Kotobukiya's ArtFX line in cooperation and as an exclusive with Barnes & Noble (watch for it in November). You assemble this baby (no glue or skill needed).
