Review: The Doh-Nut Killer & Cheesus Crust

BUTCH-O-VISION IN THE HAUS: A few weeks back I had the righteous privilege to meet artist and bad-a$$ Butch Von Dreaux who was up from Louisiana visiting Dallas. He's the creative thinktank otherwise known as Butch-O-Vision. In the past few years he's become a bit of an entrepeneur toymaker and lifestyle brand maker for those in love with the colorfully ghoulish side of fandom. What he does best is custom toys which are fantastic mash-ups and span the universes of horror, animation and sci-fi. There's really something for everyone in his cadre of special products. Everything from figures to pins to apparel, you gotta check him out. And boy/gal am I glad I did!

LOOK DEEPLY INTO THE SCREEN: In this video review we cover both Cheesus Crust (Pizzaboyzzz), a wonderful glow-in-the-dark urban deity to our favorite food on Mother Earth, and the (RZ Variant...watch the video) of Soulless Michael Simpson Doh-Nut Killer, a holiday treat for all, especially for those who might enjoy the lovechild of Michael Myers and Homer Simpson! He's a 4.5" vinyl fright and delight with an extremely crafted and handmade feel. Butch's pins will be showcased along with eight other artists' on Monday, so watch for that as well. We had a great time chatting with the artist with whom we shared a section of a local toy event and hit it off marvelously. I must say the man has a way with cutting, burnishing and otherwise rendering former toys nothing even in the ballpark of the former selves, its true transformation. And his style, though it has its creepy bloody and burned through flavor, also has a gutsy sense of humor, much like the man behind the scenes. So for more check out his Instagram for the latest and greatest, it's also his primary social platform as you'll see. Talking about sight, feast your eyes on a few alternative takes from out video shoot today, and let us know what you think!
