Born as a pretty impressive painting Alex Pardee's The BackPack is soon to be fully revealed, after a few convention peeks, and some minor tweeks, as a fully realized editioned figure! From the wonderful folks at Mighty Jaxx expect to see the release of this incredible work upon the morrow in a run of 200 pieces ($120). This is their first collab, and it will be in polystone and stand 8.5" in height. Expect the figure to surface in early 2017, but you can pre-order him now. Made up of his characters 'Back' and 'Pack' you may have recently seen the evolution of at least one of these guys in 'The Astronaut' put out by Toy Qube (expect a review of that figure here next week)!
From Mighty Jaxx: "Every brawn needs a brain, and every brain needs a best friend! Two lonely treasure hunters, PACK & BACK, lived on opposite ends of the land of YUX, where they embarked separately on many quests in search of ancient artifacts scattered around the vibrant landscapes. However, both PACK & BACK also had their share of limitations by adventuring alone. PACK was obsessed with dirt and studying the different types of soil, deducting where buried treasures may lie, but lacked the strength and skill to dig. BACK, on the other hand, was strong and LOVED digging for treasure. He was obsessed with the dirt, too, but that's because he liked EATING it! One day, PACK & BACK crossed paths while scouring the shores of a poisonous bog, and unexpectedly became immediate friends after sharing their mutual love for dirt. It was from that point on, that the new best friends shared their skills and abilities with each other, forming...THE BACKPACK, the greatest treasure hunters in the land of YUX."
We are very excited about this release and it will make a perfect companion to the aforementioned figure. At press time we do not have further information (will he be resin or abs?.....) but we do know this monsterous duo are going to create havoc on your creative collector sensibilities, that is for sure!
