BEAR WITH US: If you keep up with the comings and goings of some of the most interesting artists on the designer toy scene you will likely know the work of Luke Chueh. His minimalist paintings depict an ever-changing central bear character whose (inner) personas are often projected by masks and artifice. Bringing a certain sense of pathos to this character by swapping heads that define his core as good, bad, indifferent and otherwise pop culture centric. The company that has truly been with him along the way, releasing countless limited editions is LA-based Munky King. They've quipped about the figure seen above: "Bears, Rabbits, Devils, Oh My!" and say it will come with three heads and debut exclusively at Designer Con (Booth #435)! They have a knack for grasping Luke's ideas and running with them, with grace and a sense of continuum. The latest has been touted on their Instagram page.
