Mondo x Marvel at the Speed Of 33⅓

MARVEL IN THIS - THE ART OF SOUNDTRACKS: If you caught our preview of these incredible releases you would be armed and prepared to add them to your arsenal of Marvel x Netflix favorite recordings. Hey, wait a minute, we are not fighting supervillains, and these are the ONLY recordings of the aforementioned hit series. And leave it to our friends to the south of us, Mondo to bring on home an incredible trio of vinyl, and not the kind we are known for showing off here, but the kind that resonates in the ears, and on the eyes to a large extent. The design prowess is at drop-the-mic levels here. Designer and graphic artist Matthew Woodson has done us a serious solid here. His style has an uncertain fusion has somehow made the 70's contemporary all over again without any awkward tropes. And in using Marvel characters as his canvas has proven to be a delightful match. Check out our video review where I pull these beauties from their cellophane, right here:

MONDO MUSIC: As I explain it's in the subtleties of soundtracks, when separated from their subject matter, that bring out an unquestionable new sensibility altogether. It's the aural equivalent of umami. And we can most definitely appreciate that moreso on these recordings by composers: John Paesano (Daredevil), the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy® Winner for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music - Sean Callery (Jessica Jones) and the duo of Adrian Younge (Something About April) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest) who peppered their Luke Cage collection with a perfect blend of street smart beats and a tinge of the old spaghetti western Morricone sound. They all have a sophisticated style packaged in visually stunning 180 gram colored vinyl that screams to be spun over and over.

** Please Note: Other retailers like Zavvi may only stock the typical black vinyl - so we suggest buying through Mondo directly is available.

LISTEN UP! From the perfect usage of aqueous coating that emphasizes bullets, shattered glass and sonic sound waves to the duo-fold album sleeves THIS is what record collecting was about for several decades before the invent of MP3 or cloud-based sound. Many people who appreciate high-fidelity, including myself (a former music journalist with nearly two decades under my belt) agree that the clearest and most original sounds come from the process of pressing music to vinyl. And here you will hear every nuance. These are truly fine recordings that will put you in the mood for binge watching all season two and three with abandon! And while you can listen to all of the above incredible and intricate works on say, Spotify, you will certainly get a watered down sensory experience after only one play of each proved to this seasoned audiophile. Believe me, if you love music you will fall in love with vinyl again -- collect 'em all!
