
BANK ON THE NEW ATM: OK, it's still probably a half bit of a secret that Thailand is a very creative art toy hub, but not to me. We see some of the most innovative and conceptually minded works coming from the country on a very regular basis. And as for tomorrow, it's all about ATM2. More about that in a minute...



These are the latest from Ratta Toys (aka PonPond/Rattanapong Saelim). What you see are his imaginary take on the infamous Stormtrooper, here transformed into something resembling a samurai, hence The Samurai Wars upon the carded packaging. You might remember last year's Medicom figures that went in this direction, but this is a true artist's vision. These stand 4" tall, handmade in resin and painted to appear in two colorways, one black and white and the other in a rusty color. Both will become available as part of Atm2: Art Toys Thailand Meetup which breaks ground tomorrow (11/26) at FabCafe (Bangkok).
