Salad Fingers and Chunk

Here's hoping that in the new year (is it really almost that time again!?) we hope to bring you a hands-on review of something from the UK's Unbox Industries! But before we go there I want to share one of their latest, and these are wacky action figures, and there's a trio of them (or him in multiple moods). Meet Salad Fingers. He's a bit of an oddball, soft spoken monster/zombie. The 7" figure comes in three facial expressions: Teeth Edition, Red Water Version and finally the Curious Edition.

This was born from a net-based flash animation series, created by David Firth back in 2004 is a bit of a quirky egghead of a fella. The snakelike pattern on his tubular longsleeve shirt comes in a deep emerald and he adorns near Frankenstein-like workbooks upon his stick figure legs. The eyes have it, and recall the late actor Marty Feldman to some degree. Each of these come packaged with a blister card, have 8 pts of articulation and run for twenty-five smackers. Check him out....

And Unbox Industries is also taking up temporary residence at the Tokyo Comic Con (wish we were too). They will be presenting several items, but are featuring the incredible candy-striped sumu Chunk and he's a stunner. Created by Jim Chan, he'll be out on the floor today through 12/4. The white pearlescent piece is so perfectly offset by the wild red facial stripes, not to mention the fountain-like sculpt of the bun/ponytail. It looks as though he's adorning a simple traditional loincloth in many colors with an elegant rope tie. He looks Rubensesque and like a perfect gem to the right collection. Check out their Facebook page for more details. Jolly good show.
