FUZZY WUZZY INSIDE OUT: It's so fantastic to see classic Looney Tunes making a comeback in toy form these days. Bringing this new wave to you are Mighty Jaxx, Kidrobot and Mezco Toyz. It makes sense to look at these collectively because they are all vastly different with some crossover. So here's what we have seen out there:
THE ANATOMICAL (by Jason Freeny): Kidrobot (top); Mighty Jaxx/XXRay (bottom)
These are similar in that they are both the dissected wabbit, but the sculpts and poses are nicely different. Mighty Jaxx's version is 4" in scale and has a white base behind the skeletal portions, wish his hands upon his hips. Kidrobot put the figure out in two variations: standard in gray (above) and the black and silver version which was an SDCC exclusive that is also GITD (below) - both standing at a foot tall!
Silly wabbit has been depicted in countless ephemera over the years, but it's my guess that licensing is only starting to loosen up in recent years, especially since the animated franchise is now over 75 years old! So many kids grew up on the comical wise guy funny bunny. This is what Mezco put out earlier this year:
STANDING TALL: An articulated 24" articulated action figure, this guy comes with his signature half eaten carrot. Mezco's sculpt and concept is much more of an artistic interpretation of the original which makes him quite cool and unique. His gloved paws always make me smile.
What's Up Doc?
PS: Don't forget about Tweety!
