MEET POOKIE: Hong Kongese/Canadian artist Pucky ( #pookiecircus ) just released a new hand-painted vinyl toy for the holiday season. Pookie is limited to only 50, stands 6" tall and is made of a sofubi (soft vinyl) which comes with a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity, all packaged up in a colorful box. This bespeckled and fancifully colored lil' guy is some mystical cross between a nutcracker an ornament and a lost character from Peanuts in our eyes.
畢奇 The bedazzling diamond shapes de-emphasize the roundness of the figure, and the big red bow-tie is adorable. Oh, and the same goes for Professor Bean by the artist. Like a top this mustachioed prof meshes old-timey games with a circus sensability quite fluidly. He's more hat than body, but how can you look at that lil' rotund body and not fall in love. A perfect pair. By them separately ($84) or collect 'em all. And watch for a New Year Colorway (see below)! There are tons of other things to ogle in her shop while you are there. We are impressed with the craftswomanship here and hope to review them in the near future!
