The Forbidden TEQ63 by Filipino artist Quiccs Maiquez (Quiccs™) are a black-and-white set, two variants actually, sold out within a day or two. Expected to ship in February these are in open addition. This is the original character, a quasi-urban robot meets the undead measures four and a half inches tall. No one can deny that the play on the Funko Pop, getting it perfectly twisted, is a brilliant stroke here, right down to the packaging.
To be quite frank we have not seen any of this artist's work up close and personal to give proper credence, but the thought counts, yes? Both here are priced at a very reasonable $40 the Ghost Mode White Colorway, and the OG Black version which bring Quiccs' infamous character to the beady-eyed format. The sculpt looks quite good from the press images, and we hope that this open edition Will become open once again soon. The neck is articulated with a magnetic connection by the way. Though this is most definitely a parody we expect that several people who purchased this are also collectors of the dreaded Pop! vinyl from the company who just days ago made it into Forbes. The reason we can get behind this figure is that it speaks volumes about what real artists are doing versus what a multimillion dollar corporation purports as designer toys. We know the difference and are mightily impressed by the artist's part in the larger conversation.
