IT'S THROWBACK THURSDAY: When people think of Kidrobot they usually think of dunnys, munnys, yummys, and labbits and more current blindbox characters. However there are a lot of series that Kidrobot has produced which you have probably never heard of. Kidrobot was founded in 2002, and now have over 180 series of figures. One series of which is 2007 Damon Soule's life inVentsville.
There were 16 figures in this blindbox series and each character based around a colorful robotic style with industrial vents. There were 4 chasers which had mono to more gray colors. Some cases of the blindbox series came with a free 10" Infantree tree (500 pieces), which was made up of colorful polygons and had the same mechanical feel. Another cool feature with these blinds, were that some of the characters were drastically different sizes. They all had the same box so some of them came in parts and had easy press fit pieces. The same year oh deer (300 pieces) a 6" deer like figure from the same universe came out.
There were a few sets of the series that Damon hand painted in different styles, one of which is owned by Kidrobot Forum user ceejay and is the monochrome set and later he commissioned Damon to also customize the oh deer as well to complete the collection.
I was lucky to find this series after Kidrobot put out a questionnaire on "what is your favorite Kidrobot series?" I did some digging and found some polygons and vents and some awesome designs.
