One Sixth Scale Shopping 101

I wanted to offer something special for all my fellow 1/6 scale collecting friends! So, with TJ's suggestion, I compiled some of the best places to find all your 1/6 scale parts and figures both domestic and abroad. I will list all the places I like to deal with on a regular basis and have earned my business with excellent service and prices and ones that have wasted my time and money and you should avoid. Again let's implement our 5 Star ⭐️ System to rate these guys! Let's get started!!

In the USA 🇺🇸

Cotswold Collectibles - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Cots is one of the oldest dealers on the block and still one of the best. They are keeping the "Joe culture" alive and well with their Elite Bridge. They have numerous loose 1/6 parts, supplies, reference material, and boxed figures and cover a host of manufacturers. They truly can be your one stop shop for all things 1/6 and now 1/9 and 1/12 scale as well. The shipping can be a bit pricey for those of us on the east coast, but they have superb customer service and I'd rather pay a little extra in shipping and deal with friendly professionals.

Monkey Depot - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

The Depot is the first place I go to if I need just a few parts. They price their items fairly and competitively. They carry quite a few boxed figures and their home page lets you see at a glance what products that they recently broke down if your looking for a particular 1/6 scale part. They are also quick to ship. They also have a great pre-order system and allow people who buy figures to have them shipped boxed or unboxed to save you on shipping. I've never had a bad order with them...ever.

Toy Anxiety - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Another great place to find loose parts and boxed figures. Toy Anxiety is usually my 2nd stop after Monkey Depot if I'm looking for parts. Their prices are usually a bit more then other sites although they probably have more loose parts than any other site I frequent. They are excellent to deal with. It's only their prices which keeps them from being another 5 star dealer. They also have an eBay store which at times has items available there but not on their site. Unfortunately if you find something on their Ebay site and something in their store's website they can't combine the items or shipping so a few parts can end up costing you more in the long run.

BBTS (Big Bad Toy Store) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

BBTS isn't just 1/6 scale - it's everything. You can find some amazing deals here if you know when to look and what your looking for. They carry a host of 1/6 manufacturers. Now they are more of a collectible and toy store. So don't expect to find loose parts here. Just know if you see a deal there you better grab it, because once it's gone it's gone. They also offer a service called "Pile of Loot" where to can buy items and wait to ship until you reached a certain level of items. This is a great way to save on shipping if you are buying multiple items over a period of time.

The Store on 44 (aka Tony's Toys) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Great mix of different manufacturers of 1/6 scale. Some older pieces that are long out of production. Prices can be pretty decent on some items and a bit high on others. So you should know what you're shopping for. Not much of a loose selection anymore. Still a solid place to shop and excellent to deal with. I started buying from their eBay store and now shop at their site if they have something I'm after.

Timewalker Toys - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Great shop, great place to do pre-orders. Very fair prices and great customer service. They also do consignments for those looking to sell their items. I like to just window shop their site. Always updated and easy to navigate. They also offer free shipping if your order total reaches a certain limit.

Fairway Hobbies - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

They carry a host of 1/6 figures and items as well as statues and premium format figures. They do carry a lot of out of production pieces and retired figures. Some which can command higher prices but they too have items that have languished too long on their shelves and they will deeply discount them. When they do....grab em' if it's something you're after. Shipping can be a bit much at times but still a solid shop.

Fanboy Collectibles - ⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Only ordered from them a few times. Their prices are pretty much MRSP....not a ton of items in stock. A lot of pre-orders where you can pay down a percent of your purchase price to lock down the collectible you want. Shipping rates are fair but they are s-l-o-w.

MOAF / Man of Action Figures - ⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Site is a mess to navigate. Example: where items which are not in your search come up and items that are long out of stock still show up in a search parameter. That drives me nuts. Their prices are always 15-20% higher then MSRP even on new releases. Which stinks but at the same time if something sells out everywhere else there is a good chance they will still have it because it's priced so much higher. They do constantly seem to have a 10% coupon code which has been active for about 3 years now(?). MOAF10 - problem is since the shipping is usually on the high side the coupon code knocks it down into the realm of normal. Also their shipping speed is some of the slowest I've encountered. I've ordered from them before only to have my item arrive close to 2 weeks later and I'm literally 3 states away.

Secret Compass - ⭐️⭐️:

They are located out of Colorado and have a host of collectibles and 1/6 scale figures along with comic book, sci-fi, and pop culture items. I've dealt with them once. The reason for my rating is because I brokered a deal on a "New Premium Format Figure" what arrived and it was obviously used and a previously displayed piece. Luckily my buyer was so desperate for the piece he wanted it anyway. I waived my finders fee because of the SNAFU, but if you sell an item as new, by God it better be new. Because of that I've never been back. Was it a one time thing....it's possible, but fool me once...

Another seller that runs both a website and eBay store. I recently had a run in with them and they completely lost my business. They are in the habit of selling items they don't have in stock. They also like to run sales at their website which led me to believe I was ordering 2 items I really wanted and I threw in 6 add-on items. All at a decent price. They then refunded me and cancelled part of my order, telling me the items are no longer available but sent 3 of the add on items but at the larger order shipping rate? What's worse - in regards to the items that were on sale, they notified me these were suddenly out of stock and unavailable...well all of those pieces ended up in their eBay store...some at $50-$60 more then what they sold them to me for. So they don't honor their own sales and basically do a bait and switch. Really a crappy way of doing business. When I contacted customer service I was told when they were filling my order they were out of stock at the moment -- but less than 3 hours later they posted the items in their eBay store! Okay.....Riiiight.

War-Toys - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

This is a great place to find military items. They have a huge selection of loose WWII items. They do carry a lot of Dragon and DID figures both past and present. They do carry boxed items as well. Boxed items are priced well and the loose items are priced extremely fair. I've never had a bad experience with them and they are quick to ship. Site does navigate better on my laptop then tablet or phone but still a personal favorite of mine.

Sideshow Collectibles - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️:

Sideshow is the king of the pre-order. They not only have every major manufacturer they also get manufacturers to make their "Sideshow Exclusives" which offer figures or premium format statues with extra parts, available no where else. Prices are MSRP.....though they do have sales for stock that hasn't moved. They also reward customers with coupons and savings dollars that can be used on future purchases. Shipping rates are based on weight although there are times items can ship for free as well. Excellent place to find new product and to be made aware of new product well before it's released.

INTERNATIONAL

Urban Samurai - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Canada 🇨🇦

Great place to shop for 1/6 loose parts and some boxed figures. They have a flat rate shipping to the USA for under $8! Very fast shipping to boot. My only problem with their site is it's rarely updated. Also out of stock items are not removed from the site which makes searching for products more of an Easter Egg hunt. If those problems were fixed this site would be 5 stars easy.

KGHOBBY - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Hong Kong 🇭🇰

This place is amazing. Fantastic pre-orders. Fantastic prices. Faster shipping than some domestic dealers. 1/6 scale heaven. Honestly love these guys. They carry a lot of third party items and unlicensed items. I know some people do not like dealing with unlicensed items but if I can get a True-Type muscle clone for $13 instead of $50-$60 or more? Sign me up! Great customer service - site also allows you to convert HK dollars to US currency which makes shopping a breeze.

Popcultcha - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Australia 🇦🇺

Another fantastic vendor from down under. Amazing prices. A lot of retired figures and hard to find items priced fairly. They are the BBTS of Australia basically. So it's way more then just 1/6 scale figures. Shipping is surprisingly fair considering items are basically coming halfway across the world. Also great customer service and truly fast shipping. They also offer a "penny" program where you earn discounts off their already low prices. I just recently completed my 4th order with them and I can honestly say I'm thoroughly impressed.

7Toys7 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Hong Kong 🇭🇰

A lot of product here! Lot of loose and boxed items and pre-orders as well. The prices are a bit higher than other HK sellers but they do have the lowest shipping I've seen. It's only $3.50 USD for your entire order. So you have to figure they price their items to include the shipping which accounts for their prices being a bit higher than other Hong Kong dealers. They also run an eBay store which is excellent. I've ordered multiple times and never had a bad experience but they are slow. If you order something just know it will be about 3 weeks to over a month from the time you place your order until you receive it.

Toy Square / Toys2 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️: Canada 🇨🇦

They have a lot of product but they are another dealer that sells items they don't have in stock. I had a line on an item for a client from them. Item was bought and paid for. So I passed on another equal item to fulfill my clients want list...because I had the item locked down, right? Nope....three days later I was told they sold out and would not get anymore in. I was quickly refunded but still a waste of time. So not thrilled with their customer service or ordering system.

OneSixthKit - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Hong Kong 🇭🇰

Great shop of 1/6 figure parts and MIB items. Extremely fair prices and decent shipping rates. Site is not as large as some of the others I've mentioned here but quality over quantity. Again a little slow to get your items - roughly 2-3 weeks but they do have some great deals show up.

Machinegun.FR - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: France 🇫🇷

A lot of loose and MIB items. Some very hard to find items as well. Prices are decent, but shipping rates are bit steep! I do like their site because it's easy to navigate. They offer a clickable manufacturer list off to the left hand side. My only issue is out of stock items continue to be left up on the site which just adds clutter and gets in your way when searching their site.

Well that's it for now. I thank you for taking your time to read this long list. Just know these are experiences are my own and may not reflect what others have had or what you may experience. Some may be better or worse. Marshall Made Collectibles, myself nor Go Figure News are affiliated in anyway with any of these retailers. Have fun and happy hunting!!!
