TAKE A BITE!: Toys tend to embrace the passage of time, better than most people. Every so often I produce a video flashback and forward to capture some of those that slipped between the cracks. Today I looked at something rather new from Blackbook Toy and LA-based Japanese artist Cook One, next a set of small sofubi figures from one of our favorites, Awesome-Toy (2015), and lastly a dip into the past with Philly-based multiple maker, Cereal Art, and the carded figure set by lauded artist Marcel Dzama from 2004. Here is our video review (12 min duration):

TOY DELIGHT: In the above video we look much more closely at the following:

Blackbook Toy (Japan): Cook One's Mr. 12 (Night Club Edition). 8" glow-in-the-dark, articulated soft vinyl. (* the figure was sold sans 'pizza box') - 2016 (Fall)

Awesome-Toy (Japan): Fake Baron (Mini Fake Baron set), soft vinyl set of four with fully printed header card, in clear bag - 2015

Cereal Art (USA): Uzama: The Monsters of Winnipeg Folklore (Set of 6, sold separately), carded 3" action figures in velcro fold-out cases, edition of 2500 sets. Characters include: Tree Man, Cloudinus, Evil Ugolinor, Xenphonaner, Uzama & Sea Snake Man - 2004
