Go Figure! seriously loves surprises, especially when it comes in the form of mystery boxes, minis or what have you! It's completely satisfying tearing into something you bought without knowing what might be inside, but still having some idea of theme or favorite storyline or brand. That said, we will be having plenty of fun with blind boxes and the like in due time my pretties. So what do we have here?
Funko, in conjunction with Cartoon Network (btw: Did you know you could win a trip to the Bahamas for playing in the Battle Party Tournament?) and the makers of one of our beloved short animated series, Adventure Time, has brought forth an incredible lil' set of tin boxes, each with a single figure. There are a dozen (12) figures to collect in all, and some are likely more difficult to find, but there is no reason to not stop trying until you succeed! Now, I went out and got each of the eight (8) tins colorfully emblazoned with Jake (two ways - including Zombie Jake!), Finn (three ways), Fionna, Lumpy Space Princess, Ice King, Gunter, Marceline, Cake and the one and only BMO! I love this idea because of the collectible tins, so no tossing tons of cardboard boxes out.
While opening the eight tins I only got one duplicate, those are GREAT odds for collectors of minis! Was I just lucky?
Now, what you won't get are favorites like Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, Peppermint Butler, Me-Mow, Tree Trunks and the Candy People - but this is hopefully just Series One (though it is not marked as such). Even without these bright, wacky ones this whole concept in minis is a big hit and if we had a rating system it would be a 5 out of 5. Who knows, maybe we will be "so" specific about thumbs or stars in the future. Check them out!
